Our Story |
Our Story : Driveline Service Inc. was started in Sacramento, California in 1971 as a franchise business. Ken Goodwill and his son Richard Goodwill opened Driveline Service Inc. of Reno in May of 1971 as the first pilot shop of the new franchise. The 1500 square foot shop was located on Tachino street Reno, Nevada. At the time the franchise was dissolved in 1986, there were 112 DLS shops all across the United States. Most shops became independently owned and operated. Today, many of these shops are still open, and ran by the same people who started them back in the 70's. In 2001, Tom Hauptman, who worked at the shop since 1978, purchased the shop, which is now known as DriveLine & Gear Service. In 2004 Driveline & Gear Service was looking to expand and found Fallon as a good spot for a new location. Within a year they had an 8000 square foot shop up and running with Andy Allen, who had been working in Reno since 1994, as the manager. In 2012 Andy bought the Fallon shop from Tom and continues to hold all the strong values that have always been of part of the company. The two stores continue to work together on a daily basis, even with the change in ownership. EMPLOYEES:
